cgenerator pte ltd was incorporated in April 2000, with the help of four angels who are leaders in the fields of media, technology, and finance. It has also received investments from Compaq, which is powering the company's hardware. Later, it received funding from the National Science and Technology Board, a statutory board of the Government of Singapore, which promotes technology, and Ginosko Management, a VC company based in Singapore.

As a veteran entrepreneur, he founded cgenerator pte ltd in April 2000. As the CEO, he steered the team to its current position as the first Asia online content syndicator and infrastructure provider. Within a short period, Mr. Soon spearheaded cgenerator's expansion plans in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. He first started out in SBCI as a dealer, and has his own electronic business, which he embarked on a joint venture with an India-listed company, Salzer Group. By the time he left Malaysia for Singapore, the JV Company has a annual turnover of RM20 million. Prior to establishing cgenerator pte ltd, he worked for UBS Warburg as a stockbroker and set up its Internet trading department.
